Meta Launches 'Meta Verified' For Creator

Continuing the paid subscription trend, Meta will launch 'Meta Verified', a subscription-based service that will let creators verify their accounts with a government ID and receive blue badges in return. Couple of months back, microblogging Twitter also did the same thing.

For creators, Meta Verified starts at $11.99 per month on the web or $14.99 per month on iOS. The information for android users using this service is still not available. In a statement, Meta's co-founder Mark Zuckerberg said that users will have access to customer support directly through the new feature, which adds an extra layer of impersonation protection.

He also provided the pricing, timings, and feature information as well of the two social media platforms. Apart from Meta, Twitter also did the same a few months back.

The microblogging site said that it will charge Rs 650 per month for its Blue service with verification on the web and Rs 900 on Android and iOS mobile devices in India. This service was extended to India, Brazil, and Indonesia.

The company also offered a discounted annual plan of Rs 6,800 per year in India, which translates to approximately  Rs 566.67 per month. The micro-blogging platform has also launched a new service called Twitter Verification for Organisations, which is a service for business entities on Twitter that adds a gold checkmark to official business accounts.

Twitter has told businesses to pay $1,000 per month for retaining gold badges and brands and organisations which do not pay the money will lose their checkmarks.
